Nepal Electricity Authority’s Tanahu Distribution Center has made strong progress in controlling electricity loss over the past two years. The center has even surpassed its set targets.
For the last fiscal year 2081/82, the center aimed to control 9.30% of electricity loss but achieved 9.63%, said Chief Bijayraj Regmi.
In the previous year, 2080/81, the target was 7.92%, but the center achieved an impressive 12.92% progress.
The center provides services in areas of Tanahu, Lamjung, Kaski, Nawalpur, and Syangja districts. According to Regmi, its coverage includes all 14 wards of Byas Municipality in Tanahu, 10 wards of Bhanu Municipality (except wards 9, 10, 11), Bandipur and Aambukhaireni rural municipalities, Devghat Municipality (except ward 5), most wards of Myagde and Rishing rural municipalities, as well as Bhimad, Shuklagandaki, and Ghiring municipalities.
Other areas under the center include parts of Baudikali Rural Municipality in Nawalpur, parts of Harinas Rural Municipality in Syangja, wards 3 and 4 of Rupa Rural Municipality in Kaski, and wards 1 to 5 of Madhya Nepal Municipality in Lamjung.
More revenue collected from office counters than online
The center collected a total of Rs 62.51 crore in electricity revenue in the last fiscal year. According to Regmi, more money was collected at the office counters than through online payments.
Specifically, Rs 23.46 crore was collected online, while Rs 39.05 crore came directly from office counters.
