Tanahu is taking big steps to improve irrigation and prevent landslides. The Bhanu Irrigation and Water Resources Management Project in Damauli has started several projects worth Rs 15.75 crore in the current fiscal year.

According to project chief Supindra Khatri, five major projects have each been given Rs 3 crore. These projects include:

  • Dasdhunga Trishuli River Lift Irrigation in Devghat-5, Devghat Rural Municipality
  • Shishaghat Valley Lift Irrigation
  • Bhanu Chundi Varaha Irrigation Project
  • Tar Bazar Protection Program in Shuklagandaki Municipality
  • Landslide control near Galeshwar Ashram in Tatopani, Devghat-5

In addition, Rs 75 lakh has been set aside for controlling the Marsyangdi and Daraudi rivers.

The office is also working in Lamjung, Manang, and Gorkha districts. Chief Khatri said his team is conducting surveys and studies for irrigation projects, embankments, spur and revetment construction, land elevation, and river management.

These projects aim to help farmers get reliable water for farming while keeping communities safe from landslides and floods. By combining irrigation and disaster management, the project hopes to improve both agriculture and local safety in Tanahu and nearby districts.
