Shark Tank Nepal Season 1 has successfully concluded, creating a new milestone for entrepreneurs in Nepal. The show gave a platform for more than 100 Nepali entrepreneurs to present their business ideas to a panel of experienced investors, called “Sharks.” The season had 20 episodes, with five entrepreneurs pitching their ideas in each episode.
The Sharks included Hem Raj Dhakal, co-founder and managing director of IME Group; Cabinet Shrestha, managing director of Agni Group; Saurabh Jyoti, director of Jyoti Group; Ritu Singh Vaidya, managing director of VOITH Group; and Anand Bagaria, managing director of Nimbus. They brought their expertise and investment experience to evaluate the pitches.
The total investment offered during the season was NPR 40 crore. Shark Hem Raj Dhakal made the highest deal, while the lowest deal went to Bihe Nepal App for NPR 1,000 in exchange for 1 percent equity. The Sharks focused on businesses with strong growth potential, a clear vision, and at least one year of operation. The show also emphasized the importance of registered businesses and having a concrete plan for expansion.
