NEPSE falls nearly 14 points as market stays weak

Nepal’s stock market ended lower on Monday. The nepse index dropped by 13.88 points and closed at 2,581 points.

The market stayed negative for most of the day. Trading activity also slowed down. Total turnover fell to Rs 3.51 billion, down from Rs 4.52 billion on the previous day.

Share prices of 54 companies increased, while 200 companies declined. Five companies remained unchanged. All sector indices fell except the trading sector, which slipped by 0.57%.

Life insurance dropped by 1.01%. The hotel and tourism sector fell by 1.26%. Banking declined by 0.35%, development banks by 0.37%, and finance by 0.15%. Hydropower fell by 0.66%, investment by 0.97%, manufacturing and processing by 0.32%, microfinance by 0.45%, non life insurance by 0.45%, and the others group by 0.69%.

Among individual stocks, SY Panel recorded the highest gain with a 10% rise. CYC Microfinance increased by 5.90%, Pure Energy by 5.87%, and Himalayan Power Partner by 3.52%.

Manushi Microfinance saw the biggest loss, falling by 6.84%. Laxmi Microfinance dropped by 5.58%, Swastik Microfinance by 5.51%, and Terhathum Power by 5.20%.

In terms of trading value, Lumbini Development Bank, Sun Nepal Life Insurance, Manjushree Finance, Himalayan Power Partner, and Citizen Life Insurance were the most traded companies of the day.
