The government spent a total of 15 kharba 8 arba 23 crore 11 lakh in the fiscal year 2081/82, showing a rise compared to 14 kharba 8 arba 76 crore spent in the previous year.
How the money was used
Most of the expenditure went to running costs. Current spending reached 9 kharba 80 arba 38 crore, covering about 86% of the planned budget. Capital spending, which goes into development projects, reached 2 kharba 22 arba 68 crore, achieving 63% of the target.
Financial management, including government operations and administration, used 3 kharba 20 arba 4 crore, which is nearly 88% of the annual plan. Compared to last year, current spending increased by almost 3%, while capital spending grew by about 16%.
Revenue collection
The government collected a total revenue of 11 kharba 78 arba 82 crore, which is around 83% of the target. Tax revenue reached 81.75% of the planned amount, rising 13.25% from last year. Non-tax revenue collection performed even better, hitting 95.45% of the target with a 28.8% increase from the previous year. Overall, total revenue increased by 14.4% compared to FY 2080/81, which had collected 10 kharba 30 arba 34 crore.
Trade balance
Imports grew to 18 kharba 4 arba 12 crore, a 13.3% increase from last year, while exports jumped to 2 kharba 77 arba 3 crore, up by 81.8%. Despite higher exports, the country faced a trade deficit of 15 kharba 27 arba 9 crore.
Budget and targets
The government had planned a total budget of 18 kharba 60 arba 30 crore for FY 2081/82. Overall, about 82% of the annual spending target was achieved, showing steady growth in both expenditure and revenue collection compared to the previous year.
