The government has temporarily stopped all vehicles from entering or leaving the Kathmandu Valley for three days. This comes after continuous heavy rainfall has made roads risky and prone to floods and landslides.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority announced that from October 4 to October 6, all highways leading to and from Kathmandu will remain closed. Officials warn that the ongoing rain increases the chance of accidents and damage.

Security personnel have already started stopping vehicles at valley checkpoints. Long-distance buses and private transport from all districts will not be able to operate during this period.

The transport halt may affect local businesses, supply chains, and daily commerce in Kathmandu. Traders and investors are advised to monitor market movements as temporary disruptions like these can influence logistics-dependent sectors.
