The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has taken action against four industries and firms after its regular market inspection.
The department fined Nyaano Nepali Sirak Industry in Madhyapur Thimi with a penalty of Rs 20,000.
In Bhaktapur Sallaghari, Shree Chonga Ganesh Hardware and Krishna Plywood and Paint were each fined Rs 10,000. Similarly, Imran Readymade, located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–16, was also fined Rs 10,000.
According to the department, these firms were penalized for violating Clause 15 and Clause 38 (gha) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.
On Monday, the department inspected 15 different firms across Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. Out of them, 11 were given general instructions to improve their business practices and follow the laws.
