A surprising detail has come out in the major robbery at Rastriya Banijya Bank’s New Baneshwor branch on September 9 during the Gen-Z protests. One suspect admitted using some stolen money to buy a Bullet motorcycle.

Who is the man behind the robbery?

Police have identified the suspect as 27-year-old Deepak Shrestha from Dolakha. During the investigation, Shrestha confessed that he bought a red Bullet bike using the money he stole from the bank. He said he took about Rs 2.5 lakh from the stolen cash and added Rs 1.72 lakh of his own money, paying a total of Rs 4.22 lakh for the bike.

According to police, Shrestha also took three gold bangles, one gold ring, and a chain with a Ganesh locket from the bank. He has admitted that he took all of these items himself.

Police have filed a case against Shrestha and a minor accomplice at the Kathmandu District Court. The two are accused of being directly involved in the robbery.
