Nepal Rastra Bank has increased the daily transaction limit for digital wallets during the festive season. Normally, users can make up to 10 times transactions per day, but this limit has been temporarily raised to 40 times a day transactions.
The change applies during the major festivals of Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath. It aims to support the increase in digital payments that usually happens during these times, as more people use digital wallets for shopping, sending money, and paying bills.
Payment service providers have been asked to monitor and report the number of transactions and the total transaction amounts during this period. This will help the central bank keep track of the activity and ensure smooth operations.
This temporary measure allows users to manage their finances more easily and complete more transactions without interruption during the busy festive period.
