Universal Power Company Limited has called its annual general meeting (AGM) with a major dividend proposal for its shareholders. The decision was made by the company’s board on Bhadra 29. The meeting is scheduled for Ashoj 23 at Darbar Restro Hotel and Party Venue in Tikhdewal, Lalitpur. It will begin at 10 am.

The main highlight of the meeting will be the proposal to distribute a 9% bonus share and a 0.4737 percent cash dividend. The company will also seek approval to issue rights shares at a 1:1 ratio after the bonus shares are distributed.

Apart from the dividend and rights issue, the AGM will also focus on several other agendas. These include the approval of annual reports for fiscal years 2079/80, 2080/81, and 2081/82. The balance sheet, profit and loss account, and cash flow statements for the same periods will also be discussed and approved. The company will further decide on the appointment of auditors for fiscal year 2082/83 and determine their fees.

The election of two directors and the approval of an independent director appointment are also part of the agenda.

For the purpose of dividend distribution and AGM participation, Universal Power has announced a book closure date on Ashoj 8. This means that only shareholders who hold shares until Ashoj 7 will be eligible to attend the meeting and receive the dividend.
