Sharad Ohja, who was set to become the chairman of the Insurance Authority, has been declared ineligible. Authorities found that the documents he submitted to prove his eligibility were fake.

A special committee was formed to investigate Sharad Ohja’s qualifications. The panel was led by former Supreme Court Justice Krishna Giri, with members Jeevan Prakash Sitoula and Kapildev Oli.

The controversy began after Sharad Ohja was appointed chairman on Falgun 12. Questions were raised about the authenticity of his experience certificates. Complaints were filed with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, and court petitions were also submitted.

What did the committee find?

After a careful review, the committee concluded that the documents Sharad Ohja presented were forged. The panel submitted its report to the Ministry of Finance on Sunday, confirming these findings. With the chairman position now in doubt, the government must decide on the next steps. This case highlights the importance of verifying qualifications for top positions.

The incident has drawn attention to transparency and accountability in high-level appointments. Using fake documents in leadership roles can seriously damage public trust.
