Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal visited the Supreme Court today, just after attending the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed ministers at Sheetal Niwas. His unexpected visit caught attention as it came soon after the new ministers officially assumed their roles. Khanal was seen arriving at the court premises together with Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut.

According to sources inside the court, the minister’s visit was mainly to understand the extent of the damages inside the Supreme Court building and to get updates on other important matters related to the court’s condition. The inspection comes at a time when concerns have been raised about recent incidents that caused harm to court property.

Before Khanal’s visit, several other government representatives had also gone to the Supreme Court to review the situation and gather details about the losses. His arrival today adds more significance as it shows the government’s growing interest in the judiciary’s internal situation.

Meanwhile, hearings at the Constitutional Bench have been taking place since Wednesday, and Khanal’s presence during this period has drawn public curiosity. Many are interpreting his visit as an attempt to stay informed about key legal and administrative developments affecting the country.
