More than 30,000 new voters were added in a single day on Wednesday. According to the Election Commission, the total number of new voters registered by 8 PM on Wednesday reached 239,940, with 30,373 added on the day itself.

Voter registration will continue until 30 Kartik. The Election Commission said the number of new registrants is increasing as the deadline approaches. Officials expect registration to accelerate in the coming days because details from the national ID card are being used for voter registration.

Starting Thursday, the Election Commission will also begin including voters in the list using national ID card information. Technical preparations and testing for this process were completed overnight on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki met with Election Commission officials on Wednesday to discuss preparations for the upcoming elections. Acting Chief Commissioner Ramprasad Bhandari and other officials briefed the Prime Minister on the new process. National Registration Department Director General Navaraj Ghimire confirmed that the biometric data collected for ID cards will be available for the Election Commission.

This step will make registration easier for voters who have a national ID card but cannot visit election offices in person.
