Nepal has made big money from a small border point in Mustang. The Korala border with China has already brought in over Rs 3 Arba 1 Crore 44 Lakh 36 Thousand in customs revenue.

When Korala border trade route open?

The customs office reported that the collection was made by Tuesday since the trade route officially opened for full commercial use on Bhadra 31.

Goods imported and exported between Nepal and China are cleared through customs agents who represent traders. According to the Mustang Customs Office in Nechung, a total of 664 cargo containers have been checked and cleared so far. Out of these, 657 containers carried goods imported from China, while 7 containers were exports from Nepal to China.

Customs Chief Ramesh Khadka said that most imports from China include ready-made clothes, cosmetics, and electronic items mainly for the Dashain and Tihar festivals. On the other hand, Nepal has exported handicraft items and locally made products to China.

This growing trade activity marks a major step for the Korala border, which has now become a key trading route between Nepal and China.
