The government has created a special Loan Recovery Tribunal to handle loan-related issues in cooperative institutions. This move aims to speed up the loan collection process and resolve disputes more effectively.
Basnet Appointed as Head
The tribunal will be chaired by Kriti Bahadur Basnet, Deputy Secretary at the Supreme Court. He will be joined by Basant Raj Puri from Dhankuta and Govinda Sharma Gahaire from Tanahun as members.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung shared this decision following the Cabinet meeting held on Asar 13.
Temporary Posts Approved
To support the tribunal’s operations, the Cabinet also approved three temporary officer-level positions for the fiscal year 2081/82.

- Approval for the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation to attend the 47th UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in Paris, France.
- Ram Sharan Pudasaini appointed Executive Director of the Nepal Administrative Staff College .
- Decision to celebrate National Film Day every year on Asoj 15.
- Approval of an MoU with India for cooperation in health, ayurveda, and traditional medicine.
- Endorsement of the new National Tourism Policy 2082.
- Approval of foreign visits for secretaries from the ministries of water, infrastructure, communication, and health.
