The gold price in Nepal has surged close to its all-time high, rising by Rs. 2,100 per tola on Wednesday to reach Rs. 197,600. The highest ever recorded price of gold in Nepal was Rs. 197,900 per tola, which occurred on Baisakh 9. With this latest increase, the current gold price is just Rs. 300 short of that record. Meanwhile, the price of silver has also climbed to a new high. It rose by Rs. 30 per tola, reaching Rs. 2,350 — the highest rate for silver so far.
