Gurkhas Finance Limited has been officially launched in Hong Kong with a big vision for the Nepali community. At the opening ceremony, company director Aakash Banjara announced that the main goal is to establish Gurkhas Finance as a bank for Nepalis in Hong Kong and to unite the community.
The event was attended by special guests including Manoj Gyawali, CEO of Nabil Bank Nepal, and young entrepreneur Hikmatjung Karki. The company is led by chairman DK Dahal, director Aakash Banjara, Bibash Subedi, and 47 other shareholders.

In his welcome speech, chairman DK Dahal called on all investors to work together to turn Gurkhas Finance into a bank. He emphasized the need for unity and teamwork to achieve this goal.
Director Aakash Banjara said the idea came from the lack of a Nepali-owned bank in Hong Kong. He explained that Gurkhas Finance will provide services like remittance and other financial solutions, with the aim of becoming a leading Nepali bank in the future.
On the same occasion, it was also announced that Nabil Bank will open a representative office in Hong Kong within six months, which is expected to make financial transactions easier for Nepalis living there. The event saw participation from guests from India, China, Macau, and Taiwan, as well as Hong Kong-based business and community leaders. Speakers included Suraj Rai, managing director and chief information officer of Bank of America, Soyona Dhakal, director of Finex Hong Kong Ltd., and Hikmatjung Karki, vice president of the International Young Democratic Union.
The program was made successful through the efforts of Rajnish Bhattarai, Chit Gurung, Ram Kandel, Kshitiz Nyaupane, Nischal Dahal, Yam Gurung, and others.
