The Stock Brokers Association of Nepal has decided to stop all services until the situation caused by the Gen Z protests returns to normal. The association issued a statement explaining this decision.
According to the statement, curfew orders issued by district administration offices make it difficult for brokerage offices, especially those inside Kathmandu’s Ring Road, to operate safely. Until the government can guarantee security and the situation stabilizes, brokers find it hard to provide any services. The association apologized to investors, regulators, and the market for any losses caused by this halt.
The association also paid tribute to the young protesters who lost their lives during the demonstrations on Bhadra 23. It wished a quick recovery to those who were injured and urged the government and police to ensure the safety of protesters and public property.
Finally, SBAN asked state agencies and related authorities to take necessary steps to resolve the situation and restore normal conditions as soon as possible.
