The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a sharp decline on Saturday, closing at 2,595.97 points, down by 32.93 points or 1.25% compared to the previous trading day.
The market remained largely bearish, with 225 stocks declining, only 23 advancing, and none remaining unchanged. This broad-based sell-off reflects waning investor sentiment across major sectors.
Despite the dip, overall market activity remained high, with a total turnover of Rs. 9.14 billion and over 21.5 million shares changing hands.
Market analysts suggest the fall may be linked to investor caution ahead of anticipated monetary policy announcements, profit booking after recent rallies, or growing liquidity concerns.
