The NEPSE Index closed lower on Sunday, August 24, finishing the trading session at 2,739.95 points, down by 18.02 points or 0.65%.
Market activity remained strong despite the fall, with the total turnover crossing Rs 6.54 billion. A total of 14,009,708 shares changed hands across various counters.
Out of all traded companies, only 41 scrips advanced, while 208 declined, and none remained unchanged, signaling broad-based weakness in the market.
The Sensitive Index, which measures the performance of big companies, fell by 3.06 points or 0.64% to close at 471.19 points. Similarly, the Float Index dropped 1.38 points or 0.73% to settle at 187.62 points, and the Sensitive Float Index declined 1.18 points or 0.72%, closing at 161.04 points.
Despite the decline in the NEPSE Index, market turnover was significantly higher compared to the previous session, showing strong investor participation.
