Nepse index rose by 44.25 points on Monday, closing at 2,547. The market opened with some ups and downs but gained momentum after 12:30 PM.

Most sectors recorded growth, though trading volume fell. Total turnover reached 4.97 billion rupees, lower than Friday’s 6.7 billion rupees. Out of 254 companies traded, 200 saw their prices rise, 44 fell, and 8 remained unchanged.
The “others” sector gained the most, rising 5.01%. Other sectors also saw modest growth: banking 0.28%, development banks 1.41%, finance 1.02%, hotels and tourism 3.35%, hydropower 2.10%, investments 2.27%, life insurance 1.92%, production and processing 1.56%, microfinance 0.63%, non-life insurance 1.44%, and trading 2.81%.
Some companies had significant price increases. Nepal Microinsurance, Nepal Reinsurance, and Crest Micro Life Insurance rose 10% each. Emerging Nepal gained 9.9%, NRN Infrastructure 9.8%, Butwal Power 8.98%, and CEDB Holdings 8.45%.
On the other hand, a few companies lost value. Corporate Development Bank fell 5.26%, Three Star Hydropower 4.45%, and Samata Microfinance 3.53%.
The most active companies in trading were NRN Infrastructure, Nepal Reinsurance, CEDB Holdings, Himalayan Reinsurance, and NLG Insurance.
The market trend shows optimism among investors, even though overall trading volume decreased.
