On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index and trading volume both saw a noticeable decline. The NEPSE index fell by 41.35 points to close at 2,834, continuing the downward trend. The total turnover also dropped significantly, with shares worth approximately Rs. 9.33 billion traded—down from nearly Rs. 11 billion on Monday. A total of over 22.2 million shares were exchanged during the day. While most of the market slipped, two microfinance companies—Samaj Laghubitta and Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta—hit the positive circuit level, signaling strong demand. On the other hand, Three Star Hydropower suffered the biggest loss of the day with a 10% drop in its share price. Himalayan Reinsurance topped the trading charts with transactions worth over Rs. 392 million. Among 13 sector indices, only 2 showed gains while 11 sectors recorded losses, reflecting overall negative investor sentiment.
