Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has decided to close share trading on Wednesday and Thursday due to the current difficult situation in the country.

Why NEPSE closed?

Chief executive officer Chudamani Chapagain said the decision was made after getting approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). He explained that investors cannot leave their homes and brokers are also facing similar problems. In such a situation, opening the market is not practical. He also urged investors to stay safe at home.

The market had already remained closed on Tuesday because of the tense situation following the government’s action against the Gen Z protest. The Stock Brokers Association has also announced that it will keep offices closed until conditions return to normal.
