In a major milestone, Nepal has exported frozen French fries to the United States for the very first time.

According to the Bhairahawa Customs Office, frozen French fries worth Rs 54,88,158 were shipped from Nepal to the US. The export was made by Foot Choice Foods Pvt. Ltd., a company based in Rupandehi, which sent two containers: a total of 43,520 kilograms, of frozen fries to Gentco LLC in the US.

The customs office said this marks a proud moment for Nepal, as locally made food products have now reached one of the world’s most competitive markets. Officials believe this step will help boost Nepal’s industrial growth, earn foreign currency, and promote entrepreneurship across the country.

They also expressed confidence that the entry of Nepali French fries into the American market will open doors for more Nepali products in global markets in the future.

The Bhairahawa Customs Office added that it remains committed to improving export-related services, information access, and simplifying trade processes. It also emphasized stronger cooperation with the private sector, producers, transporters, and quality control authorities to promote Nepali exports further.
