The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT) has cancelled the licenses of 37 construction companies for failing to renew their permits by the end of fiscal year 2081. The decision was made in accordance with Clause 5, Sub-Clause 3 of the Construction Business Act, 2055, which requires timely renewal of licenses for firms involved in public infrastructure development.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, the ministry announced the cancellation, citing non-compliance by the companies that had obtained licenses to undertake public construction works but did not renew them within the mandatory deadline.

Among the firms whose licenses have been revoked are several well-known names in the construction sector, including:

  • Ganapati Group of Construction
  • Valley Star Builders
  • Giri Construction
  • Deluxe The Brave Warrior of Construction

Other companies facing cancellation include:

  • Parijat Nirman Sewa
  • International Infra Builders
  • R.M.B. Engineers and Builders
  • Sharadraj Kolakshapati Construction

Official notice

The Ministry has stated that these companies are now legally barred from participating in any public construction tenders or projects under government jurisdiction.

Officials from MoPIT emphasized that the move is part of a broader effort to enforce regulatory compliance and maintain accountability in Nepal’s growing infrastructure sector. “Construction companies that do not follow the legal framework will be removed from the system. We want to ensure only reliable and committed companies are involved in national development works,” a ministry official said.

The ministry has also urged other companies to check their license status and complete their renewals on time to avoid similar actions in the future.

This latest action by MoPIT serves as a warning to inactive or non-compliant firms that laxity in meeting statutory obligations will not be tolerated.
