Imports rise at Mechi customs, revenue grows over 15%

In the first three months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, Mechi customs recorded imports worth NPR 12.28 billion. This is 13.31% higher than the same period last year, when imports were NPR 10.84 billion.

Exports through Mechi have fallen by 21.08% this year. During the same period, goods worth NPR 4.80 billion were exported, compared to NPR 6.08 billion last year.

Revenue collected at Mechi customs reached NPR 4.15 billion in three months. This is a 15.69% increase compared to the previous fiscal year’s same period.

The data shows a strong increase in imports and government revenue, while exports have declined.
