Nepal’s capital market has recently been facing irregularities and growing concerns among investors. To address these problems, the government has decided to take immediate action.

Finance minister Rameshwar Khanal has formed a four-member task force through a ministerial decision on Friday. The team has been given the responsibility to study the situation and recommend solutions.

Who else is in the team?

The members include:

  • Sharad Niraula, under-secretary at the Ministry of Finance, serving as member-secretary
  • Sharan Adhikari, director and board secretary of Nepal Rastra Bank
  • Niranjan Phuyal, acting CEO of NEPSE

According to ministry spokesperson Tank Prasad Pandey, the task force must submit its report within five days. The report should include practical suggestions and a clear plan for implementation.
