Several major industries in Nepal have had their electricity lines cut for not paying dues. The cuts affected both dedicated and trunk line connections, especially during load-shedding hours.

The electricity lines of the following industries were disconnected on Tuesday morning:

  • Jagdamba Steel
  • Reliance Spinning Mills
  • Shivam Cement
  • Ghorahi Cement
  • Arghakhanchi Cement Industries
  • Triveni Spinning Mills

The outstanding dues of these industries are significant:

  • Jagdamba Steel: Rs 160 million
  • Reliance Spinning: Rs 75.37 million
  • Shivam Cement: Rs 77.88 million
  • Ghorahi Cement: Rs 50.85 million
  • Arghakhanchi Cement: Rs 44.84 million
  • Triveni Spinning: Rs 32.10 million

These dues cover additional charges for using dedicated and trunk lines from Magh 2072 to Baisakh 2075.

Manoj Silwal, Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, said counters are open even during the Tihar public holiday. Industries can pay in installments, and once the first installment is cleared, disconnected lines will be reconnected.
