Minister Kulman Ghising, in charge of Energy, Water Resources, Physical Infrastructure, Transport, and Urban Development, has warned transport operators who charge more than the approved fare. He said strict action will be taken immediately against anyone violating the law.

Complaints rising during festival season

Minister Ghising noted that during festivals, many passengers have complained about overcharging and black-market ticket sales. He urged operators to stop these illegal activities immediately.

Call for responsibility

Ghising emphasized that everyone, including transport operators, must act responsibly during the country’s challenging times. Passengers should not be burdened unnecessarily, and operators should not use festivals to make extra profits. He also asked local authorities and security agencies to report and act against operators who violate fare rules.
