Minister for Finance and General Administration Rameshwar Khanal has asked civil servants not to get involved in any activities that could disrupt office work. Recently, some government offices and public institutions have seen disruptions caused by groups demanding resignations from employees. These activities have affected the normal functioning of offices, prompting the minister to make the appeal.
In a statement, Khanal urged all civil servants to focus on their responsibilities and avoid actions that could lower morale or interfere with their work. He also assured employees that the government is committed to protecting their service conditions, career development, and benefits according to the law. No decisions will be made that harm employees’ rights or affect their services.
The minister added that the government plans to adjust office staffing based on workload. Offices with fewer responsibilities may have staff reductions, while offices with more work and direct service duties may get more staff. This is part of a management survey conducted according to legal procedures to ensure uninterrupted, quality public service.
Referring to the recent youth-led protests on Bhadra 23–24, Khanal said civil servants should transform their approach to meet citizens’ expectations. He emphasized that employees should focus on providing fast and quality services to the public.
