Pokhara is set to host a national industrial, trade and information technology expo starting Wednesday. The event aims to bring new energy to business and investment activities in Gandaki Province.
Event theme and purpose
The expo is being organized by the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This year’s theme focuses on boosting investment and supporting the growth of industries and businesses.
At a press meeting held at the Pokhara Exhibition Center, Chamber President Gokarna Karki said the expo aims to search for new investment opportunities and help revive the local economy. The event will run until Mangsir 21 and preparations are almost complete.
Karki said the business environment had been shaken after recent incidents during the Gen Z protest. He believes the expo will help bring confidence back to entrepreneurs and encourage them to explore new possibilities.
The expo will feature new technology products, household items, Nepali handicrafts, goods made by women entrepreneurs, automobiles and various industrial products.
The Chamber has been organizing this event since 2042. According to Karki, working with Manipal Hospital also supports Pokhara’s growth as a center for education, health, tourism and agriculture.
Krishnamohan Shrestha, liaison officer of Nepal Manipal Hospital, said their partnership with this long-running expo will help strengthen Pokhara’s image as a health hub.
Purushottam Kunwar, president of CAN Federation Kaski, said the expo will display the latest tech products and provide new digital knowledge to visitors.
General Secretary Shobha Gautam said the expo will also help promote tourism, bring producers and consumers together and showcase local culture.
