NEPSE is closed today because Nepal is celebrating important festivals across the country. On Thursday, people are marking Dhanya Purnima, Udhauli, and Yomari Purnima on the full moon day.
Dhanya Purnima is especially important, as families worship newly harvested grains and perform traditional rituals.
Because of these celebrations, all major public services are closed for the day. Banks, insurance companies, government offices, and the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) are not operating today.
Since Friday and Saturday are regular holidays, the stock market will stay closed for three days in a row. NEPSE will open again on Sunday, Mangsir 21.
