A senior officer at Prabhu Bank has suddenly gone out of contact, raising more questions in a case already under police investigation. Renu Prasad Pandey, the former credit head and now Chief Audit Officer at Prabhu Bank, has not been seen or heard from since Sunday evening. His phone has remained switched off, and he has not appeared at the office.
What happened on Sunday
According to a senior bank official, Pandey was inside the building when police from the CIB unit arrived. He reportedly moved to an upper floor to avoid them. Later that night, he went home but has not been reachable since. Bank officials confirmed that he has not shown up for work. Attempts to reach him even while preparing this news were unsuccessful, as his phone remains off.
Pandey had signed several files that are now part of the police investigation. Because of this, staff believe he may be avoiding contact out of fear of being arrested.
Police have already taken the bank’s CEO and two other employees into custody for further inquiry. Their investigation period has been extended for five more days.
