The NEPSE Index climbed by 21.76 points, or 0.75%, to close at 2,892.72 on July 21, 2025. Despite this gain, the day saw a significant drop in overall market activity.
The total turnover stood at Rs. 16.32 billion, down by Rs. 5.13 billion (23.94%) compared to the previous session. Likewise, the total traded shares reached 3.56 crore, a decrease of 1.60 crore shares (30.99%). The number of transactions also dropped to 1.38 lakh, down by 39.3 thousand (22.08%).
Among the market indices, the Sensitive Index rose by 4.46 points (0.89%) to 502.49, and the Float Index increased by 1.6 points (0.81%) to 199.49. The Sensitive Float Index went up by 1.68 points (0.99%), settling at 172.06.
Out of the traded stocks, 153 companies advanced, 96 declined, and none remained unchanged.
Despite the decrease in turnover, traded volume, and transactions, the overall upward movement of the NEPSE Index suggests positive investor sentiment in the market.
The NEPSE Index remains a critical benchmark for gauging the performance and trends of Nepal’s capital market.
