The NEPSE Index closed nearly unchanged on July 8, ending the trading day at 2,683.86 points, a slight dip of just 0.14 points or 0% from the previous session. Despite the flat performance, the market recorded a strong turnover of Rs 6.57 billion.

Investor sentiment was mixed, as 133 stocks advanced, 115 declined, and none remained unchanged. Subindices showed minor changes: the Sensitive Index rose by 0.04 points to close at 459.70, while the Float Index fell by 0.01 points to 184.06. The Sensitive Float Index closed at 157.04, gaining 0.05 points.

Even though trading value was high, overall market activity declined. Total turnover fell by Rs 1.80 billion, or 21.52%, compared to the previous session. Total traded shares stood at 15,027,372, a volume drop of 22.6%. The number of transactions also declined to 56,200, marking a 21.09% fall.

The NEPSE Index movement remained neutral today, but the high turnover suggests that investors are still actively participating. With volatility low and sentiment split, traders are likely awaiting fresh triggers to define the next direction of the market.
