Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) faced an unusual incident on Tuesday. Newly appointed chairman Hemanta Bashyal, who took charge on Bhadra 20, faced strong opposition from the staff.
After taking charge, Bashyal began working in a corporate style. He gave clear instructions and enforced strict rules for performance. This approach made some employees unhappy.
On Tuesday, their frustration grew and reached the chairman’s office. After a long argument, Bashyal left the office and returned home.
Bashyal has extensive experience in the financial sector. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and previously worked as the Chief Executive Officer of NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited. He resigned from that position on Bhadra 19 before becoming NEPSE chairman.
