Nepal Rastra Bank has started circulating new Rs. 10 notes from Asar 2 (Monday). The central bank confirmed that a total of 34 crore pieces—worth Rs. 3.4 billion—have been issued across Nepal.

The fresh banknotes come with the signature of former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari and are printed in the same size, color, and design as before. These notes are intended to replace old and damaged bills in circulation.

Details of the New Rs. 10

Front Design:

  • Left side: Image of Mount Everest
  • Right side: Rhododendron (Laliguras) watermark
  • Bottom: Series year written in Nepali as वि.सं. २०८१
  • Back Design:
    • Top: “Nepal Rastra Bank” written in English
    • Center: Picture of Krishnasar (Blackbuck)
    • Bottom: “Rupees Ten” and the date 2024 A.D.

The note serial numbers range from 000001 to 999999, though the bank noted that only up to 800000 serials have been distributed in the current phase.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the goal is to enhance currency quality in daily transactions and ensure smoother circulation throughout the country.
