Kumari Bank Limited has handed over the scholarship fund it had been collecting over the years to the former living Kumari, Trishna Shakya, in a formal ceremony.
Every year, the bank had set aside a scholarship of NPR 100,000 for Trishna Shakya’s educational purposes, starting from the year her tenure began. The bank says this scholarship is meant to support her education after her time as Kumari ends.
Following this tradition, the bank has now given her a total amount of NPR 738,811.95 as a scholarship from the fund.
Kumari Bank, which has been serving the country for 24 years, runs 302 branches, 50 extension counters, 48 branchless banking units, and 317 ATMs across Nepal. The bank actively supports programs in education, health, entrepreneurship, and environmental protection as part of its social responsibility initiatives.
The bank has also promised to continue strengthening and expanding such programs in the future.
