Jhapa Energy Limited had opened its initial public offering (IPO) for the general public from Bhadra 20, 2082. It was initially scheduled to close on Bhadra 24, 2082, but due to the Gen Z protest, the final day for applications was extended to Bhadra 30, 2082. The IPO is managed by Himalayan Capital Limited.

The company had issued 473,336 units, but 2,007,142 people applied for a total of 22,468,850 units, making the IPO oversubscribed 47.47 times. This means approximately 1,533,806 applicants will not be allotted, leaving many applicants without shares. This shows strong interest in Nepal’s hydropower sector.

The strong market demand shows growing support for energy projects in Nepal and gives people a good opportunity to invest in the country’s development.
