The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will reopen today after being closed since Bhadra 24 due to the Gen Z movement. According to the Securities Board of Nepal’s directive issued on Bhadra 31, trading will now resume as normal.
Although the board had instructed the market to open on Ashwin 1, trading was not possible that day as the government declared a national holiday to honor those who lost their lives in the movement.
The last trading session was on Bhadra 23, when the NEPSE index fell by 1.32% (35.99 points) to close at 2,672.25. Investors are now closely watching how recent events will affect market sentiment.
