Roshan Kumar Neupane, the Chief Executive Officer of NIC Asia Bank, has resigned from his position. He had wanted to leave the bank earlier due to disagreements with the board of directors. However, the board had delayed accepting his resignation because of the difficult situation the bank was facing.
Recently, the bank confirmed that Neupane submitted his resignation on Thursday, and the board approved it on the same day, even though his term was not yet complete. He revealed that his wife is seriously ill, which led him to step down from his banking career. Neupane said,
“I will not return to banking, but whatever I do, I will do it in Nepal.”
Although the resignation is now official, Neupane had been mostly inactive at the bank for a long time. Many of his responsibilities were handled by deputy CEO Santosh Kumar Rathi.
Following his resignation, the board has given the acting CEO responsibilities to Rathi. This change marks an important shift in the leadership of NIC Asia Bank.
