Nepal Rastra Bank has asked banks and financial institutions to continue providing services during the Tihar festival, except on the day of Bhai Tika.

The central bank said this decision was made to support smooth trade and supply operations during the festive period. It has sent a notice to all A, B, and C class banks and financial institutions, requesting them to keep their banking systems active so that customs clearance and business transactions are not affected.

The bank also announced that the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system will remain open today, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This system allows large-value payments and settlements to take place in real time.

According to the central bank, these steps are meant to ensure that trade and supply chains continue to function properly even during the holidays.
